The Hydrogen Method:
Searching for leaks using hydrogen tracer gas, called the Hydrogen Method, is today an established method in the industry, suitable for both leak testing and leak locating. The actual gas mix used is a mixture of 5% hydrogen in nitrogen, which is non flammable, non-toxic and non-corrosive (often called forming gas, this ready mixed gas mixture is available from almost all gas suppliers).
Hydrogen has some unique properties making it a superb tracer gas for leak testing. It is the lightest element in the universe and the lightest of all gases. Hydrogen molecules move with a much higher velocity than other molecules, and therefore, escape through leaks quicker than other gases. Hydrogen also dissipates quicker, thereby minimizing the risk for buildup background interference during leak testing.
Hydrogen Leak Detectors:
Adixen hydrogen leak detectors are specially designed for locating leaks with maximum ease. Switch on the detector, move the hand probe over the object, listen to the sound signal, and there will be no doubts where the leak is. All instruments are based on a proprietary microelectronic sensor technology that is integrated into leak detectors with outstanding performance and ease of use.
The leak detectors combined with tracer gas chargers and various practical accessories are all designed for tough industrial environments and present a whole new range of opportunities for improving and symplifying leak detection on a great variety of applications.
